So you think you want an Aussie?

While our emphasis is on working Aussies, we firmly believe that Aussies make wonderful companions even if they don't go into working homes. Australian Shepherds are an active breed that need to be a part of your life! They are not a breed that will be content stuck in the yard with minimal human interaction.

Aussies are wonderful with children if raised with them. Please be aware that they may become protective of the children in their family and not accepting of other children unless socialized and trained with other children. This is true for any member of the family.

The ASCA breed standard states "The Australian Shepherd is primarily a working dog of strong herding and guardian instincts......He is reserved with strangers but does not exhibit shyness."  Our dogs are perfect examples of this and I expect their offspring to be as well.

Puppies will have tails and dewclaws removed. They will receive a full checkup from our veterinarian at 6 weeks of age and receive their first vaccinations & microchip. We deworm with Strongid at 2 & 4 weeks of age. We then give Panacur at 6 weeks continuing every 10 days until pups leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age. Pups will be fed Victor Professional. Pups will be well socialized with children, cats, small dogs and will have controlled exposure to livestock.

Working Guarantees: Dogs are guaranteed to work livestock. Please do not expect a puppy to do the work of an experienced adult dog. Keep in mind that these dogs are a product of both their genetics and environment. Once puppies leave at 8 weeks of age, we are no longer in control of their environment or the person in the family the puppy will bond with. We have selected our breedings to produce puppies that have the potential to be useful stockdogs.

Health guarantees: free from hip dysplasia, hereditary eye defects, inherited epilepsy and disqualifying faults per the ASCA Breed Standard. Any dog not meeting this guarantee will be replaced with an equal quality pup as soon as one becomes available. The original pup will be returned to the seller at the buyer's expense or spayed/neutered at the seller's option. Registration papers must be returned unless agreed upon by the seller. All guarantees become null and void if and when the dog is used for breeding.

H3 Aussies are ASCA registered only.  The only exception will be registration with the AKC under their ILP Program AFTER the dog is spayed or neutered and they have allowed us to change their ASCA registration papers to "not for breeding".  H3 Aussies WILL NOT be registered with any registry as another breed (Example: Miniature Australian Shepherd or North American Shepherd).
